Great Book!

Last Friday night dh and I went on one hot date to the bookstore.  Haha!  We often head out having no clue where we are going only to end up at the bookstore.  We're dorks, I know.  But at least we are dorks together.  :)

So we went in and as usual dh headed straight for the Christian section.  I usually follow him and we both come out with some sort of great book usually by Scott Ha.hn or Peter. Kree.ft.  However, this day I was particularly stressed and decided that I needed some sort of mindless girly book to take my mind off all the the craziness going on around me lately.  I left him lost in the many many books he had picked up and was sorting though and wandered over to fiction section.  I had been there for about 10 minutes and nothing was grabbing me.  Then all of a sudden in the midst of all the silly books about nothing in particular I the book Signs of Life by Scott Ha.hn.  I started looking through it and it seemed like the perfect book for a newbie Catholic.  :)

I've read about half of it and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!  It is wonderful.  It talks about 40 Catholic customs and their biblical roots.  DH started flipping through it the other day and said that he thought all Catholics should read it.  He started talking about all the years he went through life not knowing most of these things and how books like this should be required reading.  The chapters are pretty short and everything is written in plain English.  It is not written for someone with a degree in theology, it is definitely written for the average person.

Have any of you read it?  I'd love to hear what you though. :)

The Date Is Set!

We had our usual weekly get together with Deacon A yesterday.  It went great and now the date for me to be received into the Church is set. Sunday, July 25th!  WooHoo!  It would be sooner but Deacon A is going to be out of town for the July 4th holiday and then Fr. R will be out of town after that.  There are other priests but Fr. R is in charge and he really wants to do it.  I don't mind, I really love Fr. R.  In two weeks I will have my final meeting with Deacon A.  We will go through a dry run of confession.  At first I thought that seemed silly but I'm kind of glad we are doing it.  Confession is really making me nervous so hopefully this will help to ease me a bit.  The following Saturday, the 17th I will make my first confession and then the next week is the big day.

I am ridiculously excited!

The Best Chocolate Cake EVER!

Today we are having a little shindig for dh's 29th birthday.  Nothing big or fancy (we'll save that for the big 3-0 next year!), just a little get together with a few of our closest friends.

I don't think I've  mentioned it here before, but I absolutely love to cook and bake.  I have a real passion for it.  It is by far one of my favorite things to do...especially after a really stressful day.  Unfortunately, it does absolutely nothing for my waistline. :)

For tonight I'm making dh's favorite cake...and mine too. :)  I got this recipe from a friend about 2 months ago and have made it probably 4 or 5 times since then.  I've tweaked it a little...cause that's what I do.  I thought I would share it with you guys because it is just too darn good to keep a secret.  It's called a Chocolate Stout Cake.  Stout because it has some stout beer in it.  Don't worry though, it doesn't really have a beery taste.  But the beer certainly does something for it.  It is super super moist and absolutely delish!

Here's the recipe...

Chocolate Stout Cake
1 cup of stout beer (I use Guinness b/c that is dh's favortie beer but you can use any stout.  Youngs Chocolate stout is a good one too!)
1 cup of unsalted butter
3/4 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
2 cups of flour
2 cups of sugar
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp salt
2 large eggs
2/3 sour cream

Ganache

11 oz semi sweet choco chips (Just use the whole 12oz bag, you won't notice the difference.)
12tbsp heavy cream
1 1/2 tsp instant coffee granules

Preheat oven to 350,  Butter and flour your Bunt pan (I use PAM for Baking, it's just easier and less messy).

Bring stout and butter to simmer in a larger heavy saucepan over med heat.  Whisk in coca powder until mixture is smooth.  Let cool slightly.
whisk together the dry ingredients and set aside.
Beat the eggs and sour cream together in a large bowl.  Add the chocolate/stout mixture mixture to the egg mixture and beat to just combine.  Add the dry ingredients and beat briefly on slow speed.  Using a rubber spatula, fold the batter until completely combined.  Pour into prepared pan.  Bake the cake until the tester inserted into the center comes out clean, about 35 minutes.  Transfer cake to rack, cool completely in the pan before turning out.

Ganache:
Melt the chocolate chips, heavy cream and coffee in the top of a double boiler over simmering water ( I don't own a double boiler but you can put a heat-safe bowl over simmering water too).  Stir constantly until smooth and warm.  Pour over the top of the cooled cake.

Sometimes I add strawberries to the top too if I have them.

I'm telling you it is to die for!!

I took some pics while I was baking this one that I will post later.

Dear Body

Dear Body,

Why do you hate me? Why do you do things that make no sense?  I am tired of you acting all wonky!  I am tired of you being unpredictable!  I am tired of you making me think that you are starting to work only to do something crazy again.  I'm tired of the two steps forward and one step back!  Could you please figure out what you want to do and then just stick with it?  Please?

Body, I thought we were done with this tebb crud!  I know that your hormones were all out of whack before.  That is why I endure the painful shots every month.  I do that for you.  So why all of a sudden after several months of no tebb did you decide to do it again?  I just don't understand.  I gave you the same shots you got all those other months.  Are they not good enough for you anymore?  I would really appreciate it if you would just stop!  How about next cycle we don't do that?  How does that sound?  Actually, if all bleeding could just stay away next cycle that would be great!

And another thing.  What's with the migraines?  I can't take them anymore!  I delt with these nasty migraines for years and years.  Those migraines you used to give me almost landed me on disability.  I thought we were done with those too.  Could you do me a favor and stop with those.  My poor head can't take it anymore.

Ok body...do you think you can work on these two things?  I'm really not asking for too much.  Oh yeah, and one more thing...when you see sperm and an egg in the same place at the same time, that's a good thing.  That's a very very good thing.  If you could work on joining those two things together that would be great!

Love,
Impatient Me

Quick Takes

1.  Two weekends ago dh and I had my wonderful nephews over for the night.  We spent a lot of time at our neighborhood pool.  They had a BLAST!  And we really enjoyed having them.  I love these two cuties more than anything.  And if you ask me they are two of the cutest kids ever!

I love this one!  This is when the fountains at the kiddie splash area first turned on.  He was so surprised and so excited!

Eli was having so much fun.

Jacob was my first little love.  I love him dearly.  He is such a great big brother!
2.  I'm off this week and won't be working too much this summer.  I am LOVING it!  Seriously loving it!  I am so meant to be a stay at home wife (and mom :) )!  I just know it.  I have gotten so much accomplished this week and have so much more I need to do.  My house is going to look awesome after this summer.

3.  I need to stop watching a baby story!  I was watching it yesterday...actually I think I was watching Bringing Home Baby and I wanted to crawl through the tv at this woman.  She brought her baby home and then said something to the effect that she thought having a baby was going to be like bringing home a puppy but it isn't it's harder.  Um....yes, a human life is a bit different from a puppy.  Don't get me wrong, I love my little Oscar, but it's not the same as an infant.

4.  I've been especially thankful for all of you this week.  Your comments on my post about CD1 and surgery really helped.  I am an extremely anxious person and sometimes when I get something in my head I just run with it and I can get really stressed really quick.  I am so happy to know that I do have options.  I have an appointment with Dr. G on the 17th and we are going to discuss what we need to do.  I need to make her understand that I don't want to take a "wait and see" approach to all of this.  I want to get going asap on whatever I need to do to fix my broken lady parts.

5. This cycle has started off terrible!  The last two cycles my cramps haven't been too terribly bad.  Oh My Gosh that is so not the case this time!  I cannot believe they haven't come up with some sort of pain reliever that can alleviate this crap.  Sometimes I feel like they are really behind the curve when it comes to women's health.  Seriously!

6.  I am very confused by family and friends.  Actually, I am very confused by some of our Catholic family and friends.  I get that when our non-catholic people learn about our infertility they automatically think about ART.  They are just so misinformed.  But the response we have gotten from our Catholic people has just shocked me!  I mean really!  And even when dh tries to explain to them why ART is not an option for us and why the Church is against it they just look at us like we're nuts.  I swear if one more person says "Well, if you wanted a baby bad enough you would try anything."  I may just go completely nuts.  I just don't get it.

7.  I've always been sort of a crafty person.  And I've always got tons and tons of ideas swirling around in my head.  A few weeks ago I got the idea to make a rosary.  So I did.  It only took me about an hour or so and it is beautiful if I do say so myself.  DH wants me to make one for him next.  He thinks I should open an etsy shop.  I'm not so sure about that...but I am definitely going to start making some as gifts.  I really enjoyed it!

I don't think these pictures do it justice but you get the idea.  I took them on our wedding invitation that I have framed for some reason.

CD1 and Surgery Stress

I think today is CD1.  I woke up to spotting this morning.  I knew it was coming.  I think my new lp is 13 days rather than 12.  Seems to be the new trend.  I don't think I'm going to say much more about it.  I'm pretty upset and talking about it just makes things worse.  So that's it.  Better luck next time.

Today is dh's 29th birthday.  Woohoo!  I've still got to get his present and I have no clue what to get him.  Nothing like last minute right?  DH also said he didn't want to go out to dinner he'd rather have dinner here.  So I'm off to get some tuna and mahi from Fresh Market today.  As soon as I can get my lazy butt off this couch.  These cramps and this headache are making things difficult.

So speaking of cramps.  I need surgery and I just don't want to think about it.  But I need to think about it.  But I really don't want to.  From the day that I started seeing Dr. G she has said she wanted me to go have surgery with Dr. Hildgers.  She finally said the word that I had been asking doctors about since I was about 16.  Endometriosis. (I guess I should work on finishing my history that I started like forever ago)  She said that I seemed like such a classic case and that if I don't have endo she would be absolutely shocked.

I know that I have it.  I can't explain how I know, I just do.  I've known since I was a teenager I just couldn't get a doctor to listen to me.

I was talking to dh last night and said that one way or the other we have to figure out how to do this surgery.  If I have endo completely taking over my lady parts then all of this stuff we're doing could be completely pointless.  We could be spinning our wheels with like a 0% chance of actually conceiving.

Here's the issue.  We live in Florida.  Plane tickets for the two of us would be about $1500.  Plus a hotel stay for 9 days (Dr. G said that's how long we'll have to stay before they will let me back on a plane). I have really, really crappy insurance that isn't going to cover much if any of this.  How much do you think the surgery would cost out of pocket?  I don't even want to think about that.  And then, there is always the chance that Dr. H will go in and see too much and make me come back for another more invasive surgery.  Which will me lots more money.

I just don't know how we can do it.  It stresses me out to think about it.  I feel like I am sort of between a rock and a hard place.  I've been praying about it but I still don't feel like I have any answers.

Well...I'm off to take care of some birthday things.  Hopefully the rain will stay away for a little while.  Although I have lived here my whole life I just can't get used to the soupy feeling in the summer. YUCK!

Updates All Around

So today is P+12...AF should be here tomorrow.  I feel it coming.  I know it's coming.  I'm sad but I was expecting it.  With such a crummy mucus cycle I knew it would be inevitable.  I did once again let myself get my hopes up though.  I actually counted wrong and was thinking that today was P+13.  I was figuring that if AF wasn't here tomorrow I would test on Wednesday morning...that's DH's birthday.   Wouldn't that be an amazing birthday...and Father's Day present!?!?  I know that would be silly considering that I take HCG but I just wouldn't be able to help myself.  I'm silly like that. :)  The end of this cycle has been a bit different.  This may seem like tmi but I figure I tell all of my secrets on here so why not just tell them all.  Right?  Haha!  My boobs have been super sore!  They are always really sore and huge post peak but this time around it just feels a little different.  They are achy which is also normal...but I keep getting these sharp pains, and they are kinda itchy.  Make sense?  My cramps have also been almost totally absent.  Usually around P+10 I start getting a crampy feeling that just intensifies as time goes on.  Not this time.  I had a really sharp feeling somewhere around my left ovary Saturday.  It actually felt more like a sharp pop feeling.  If I hadn't had an ultrasound that said they were all good I may have thought it was a cyst or something.  Not that I know what a cyst feels like.  Then up until tonight I haven't had any cramps at all.  I've had a few brief moments tonight of an achy feeling but nothing too bad.  I'm guessing they just started late and I'll feel worse tomorrow.  My typical headaches also started tonight so I'm sure AF is on her way.  Yippee.

Maybe I'm a little sarcastic. No?

Today was my 3rd meeting with the deacon at church.  He always seems so surprised at what I already know and yet I feel like I know very little.  I guess most people go in looking for information to then decide if they want to join the Church.  I'm just not that kind of person.  I researched and researched, and bombarded Kevin with question after question to decide if that's what I wanted.  Then I went to the deacon.  That's just how I tend to do things.  I'm so scared of looking stupid that I want to be super informed about everything.  Make sense?  I know it sounds crazy.  I can't help it.  After our meeting he said that he told me everything that I needed to know (obviously I don't know everything and never will, he was just saying that he went over all of the basics that I need to know).  Next week we will be going over confession.  Then from what I understand he will go to Fr. Ron and let him know that I am ready.  Woohoo!  Then I guess Fr. Ron will ask for permission from the Bishop.  Then it's just a matter of me going to confession, getting confirmed, and then communion.  There's one catch though.  There's always a catch isn't there?  Fr. Ron is leaving at the end of June to go to Israel and won't be back until some time in July.  Soooo...that means I have to wait until July.  No biggie I guess.  I'm trying not to let my impatient self creep in. :)

Speaking of confession.  Have I mentioned how much this terrifies me?  Don't get me wrong, I want to go to confession, and I know that it has to feel so good to get all of that off of your chest.  But I am just terrified!!!  The thought of sitting down with someone and telling them all of my sins just makes me feel a little sick.  I've got a lot of years to confess...this could take a really long time.

I've been trying to sum up how I've been feeling lately regarding "coming home."  I have so many emotions and thoughts and feeling swirling around in my head.  I have about 9 posts started and saved that aren't finished because my brain is just one big jumbled mess.  There has however been this song stuck in my head that seems to put it into words perfectly.  When dh and I go to the LifeTeen Mass on Sunday's there is something they do that I really love.  After communion is over they turn the lights down low and everyone kneels.  Then we sing a song.  They always choose such fitting songs.  Below is the song we sang last Sunday.  It is by far one of my favorites!  I had a hard time fighting back the tears.

Here are the lyrics (Because it always helps me to read it :) )

"Hungry"

hungry I come to You
for I know You satisfy
I am empty
but I know Your love does not run dry
and I wait
and I wait
so I wait for You
so I wait for You

chorus
I'm falling on my knees
offering all of me
Jesus, You're all this heart is living for

broken I run to You
for Your arms are open wide
I am weary but I know Your touch restores my life
so I'll wait for You
so I'll wait for You

I'm falling on my knees
offering all of me
Jesus, You're all this heart is living for
Oh, I'm falling on my knees
offering all of me
Jesus, You're all this heart is living for

and I wait for you
and I wait for you
and I wait for you
and I wait

I'm falling on my knees
offering all of me
Jesus, You're all this heart is living for
Oh, I'm falling on my knees
offering all of me
Jesus, You're all this heart is living for

hungry I come to you,
for I know You satisfy
Beautiful if you ask me!
I've been thinking about my journey and at first was frustrated with how stubborn I was.  But recently I have realized that it was all part of the plan.  God needed me broken.  He needed me down at my lowest point begging for help.  He needed me to realize how much I needed Him in order for me to see His true beauty. He needed me to be at a point where I could say "Lord, here I am!  Take me!  Show me YOUR will." and actually mean it.

My Looooooong Story

So last week this lovely lady asked us to post our conversion story.  Her timing was actually very funny.  Another one of those instances where I think God was helping me a little.  This is actually something I have been trying to write for some time now only to hit the delete button because it didn't turn out just right.  I'm actually a very shy person.  Hard to tell I know seeing as how I post all the inner workings of my female parts for all the world to read on this blog.  But I really am painfully shy.  I really don't like being the center of attention.  It terrifies me actually.  I was freaking out on my wedding day, not because I was getting married, no, I was 100% certain I was doing the right thing, but because I knew when those church doors opened everyone was going to look back at me.  I'm always afraid I'll say the wrong thing, I'm afraid of what people will think, I'm afraid of being judged.  I can't sleep sometimes thinking about it.  It's an issue I know...and I'm trying to work on it.

So the day that the question was asked I was actually working on a post about my story.  But once again, like I had so many times before, I deleted it.  I kept feeling like it was too long and too detailed.  But I just couldn't bare to shorten it.  The truth is, I feel like an impostor.  You see, I am not Catholic...yet.  Although I have never said that I was, I also haven't said that I wasn't.  But I'm going to be!  I'm going to be real soon.  And I just cannot wait!

It's been a long bumpy ride to get here.  It's been so interesting to see all the things that have happened to lead me here.  I feel so blessed.  So, if you have some time sit back and enjoy my story.  I'm sure it's going to be a long one.  So don't say I didn't warn you. :)

I was not raised in a church.  I do not believe that my dad believes in God and as I've mentioned before, my mother was not part of my life.  My grandparents (and my dad for that matter) went to church when my dad was a child but for some reason they just quit going.  My grandmother grew up Methodist and went to a Methodist church her whole childhood.  My grandfather was Baptist and they went to a Baptist church after they got married.

So religion and God were not part of my everyday life.  However, I never questioned that there was a God.  I didn't know how to pray but I would always try at night.  I'm not even sure where I got the idea for it seeing as how I was never really taught.  When I was in 5th grade a friend of mine from down the street asked if I wanted to go to church with him at the local Presbyterian Church on Sunday.  I was excited and ran home to tell my dad that I wanted to go.  Of course he said fine, but he wasn't going.  I mentioned it to my sisters and my dad's girlfriend (who was living with us at the time) and they decided to go to.  After that first Sunday I was hooked.  I loved being there and couldn't wait to go back.  I went every Sunday and stayed after church for Sunday School.  When I was finishing up 5th grade I got an invitation from the youth group to join them.  I was so excited!  That fall I began youth group every Sunday night.  I made great friends and loved learning about Jesus.  There were many Sunday's that my dad's girlfriend decided that she didn't want to go so I just figured I would walk the couple of miles there.  No biggie. I figure I wanted to go and no one was going to stop me.  To be honest, I wasn't entirely sure why I was going, I just felt a tug and felt like I should be there.

When I was in 7th grade I decided that I wanted to get baptized and become a member of the church (Presbyterians do believe in infant baptism but as I said before, my family did not go to church).  So I did.  It was an amazing experience.  I continued to go to church and youth and was having an amazing time.  That summer I went on my first retreat with the youth and that sealed it for me.  I loved Jesus and decided to give my heart to him.  I felt like I was on top of the world.  However, looking back, I loved Jesus, but I wasn't in love with hi,

Years went by and I continued going to church and youth.  I went on many retreats, taught Sunday School, and at the Wednesday night kids program.  I volunteered at Vacation Bible School and even went on a missions trip to Mexico when I was 16.  I had such amazing experiences that I would not trade in for the world.

During this time I was going through absolute turmoil at home.  I was at an age where not having my mom around was really hard.  I loved my dad dearly but we clashed big time.  He was a serious alcoholic and had even gotten two DUIs., one of which my sister was in the car.  When he was drunk (which was every day) he was very difficult to deal with.  He lost his job and we were now struggling even more financially than before.  I had gotten a job and there were many occasions where I ended up paying the electric bill because the electricity had been turned off or payed the mortgage because my dad didn't have the money.  I was dealing with the typical struggles of being a teenager and wholeheartedly believe that if it wasn't for my church family I would have taken a completely different path.  Not having any sort of religious background at home left morality up for interpretation.

At the very end of my senior year of high school I met my husband.  He mentioned to me right of the bat that he was Catholic (if I remember correctly I asked him if he was a Christian because I certainly wasn't going out with someone who wasn't).  I was glad to hear that he went to church but was not so thrilled that he was Catholic. I did not know much about Catholicism, but in my mind it was wrong.  I told my youth leader about him and she confirmed my fear that Catholics were not truly Christians (oh how misinformed I was!).  From that moment on I felt it was my mission to "save" him.  I invited him to church with me and was terribly offended when he left immediately to go to his church.  I could not for the life of me understand why going to church with me wasn't good enough.

This went on for the first year of our relationship.  Then all of a sudden my support system at church seemed to be crumbling and I was confused and felt lost.  Kevin invited me to church with him one Sunday so I went.  I didn't understand a lick of what was going on but continued to go with him every Sunday.  I kept praying and asking God what I should do.  I couldn't figure out much of what I thought God was telling me but I did feel like I should be going to church with Kevin.  In my heart I felt like if we were going to get married ( although we weren't yet talking about it I knew he was the one) we needed to go to church together.  This was very important to me.

Years went by and we eventually got married (only after 4.5 years :) ).  Kevin and I did not go to church every Sunday.  During this Kevin was sort of pulling away from the church.  Even with being a cradle catholic and attending Catholic School, Kevin was not 100% sure of his faith.  He did not get what he now refers to as a proper Catholic Education.  He felt like he was just going through the motions.  I on the other hand was searching.  I knew I needed to be in church I just didn't know which one.  I was constantly asking Kevin questions about Catholicism and he was never able to answer them (I asked some pretty deep ones).  He would even frequently comment about how he knew nothing and I was much more knowledgeable when it came to the Bible.  I saw this as my in and kept asking him to go to some other church with me.  I even told him he could pick the church as long as it wasn't Catholic.  He consistently said no.  This just irritated me to no end!  He wasn't going to church at the Catholic Church but it was still wrong for him to go to another church?  There was no logic behind this in my mind.  So I kept pestering him...and he kept saying no.

Little did I know, my pestering was actually working.  I didn't know it at the time, but Kevin was beginning to do some major research into his faith.  All of a sudden I noticed he was wanting to go to church every Sunday.  I went with him begrudgingly until one Sunday the Priest said something about Protestants and I got ticked.  I stopped going immediately.  I always had some excuse my head hurt, I had cramps, etc.  Meanwhile, Kevin was learning more and more about his faith.

Suddenly, when I would ask questions he would be able to answer them and I was learning.  My hunger for God was so strong that one Sunday evening I decided to suck it up and go with him again.  I haven't turned back since.  The Mass we went to was the Life Teen Mass so there was a band and whatnot.  I realize that this is not what is important in Mass but at the time I believe that God understood that this is what I needed to get me there.  I needed to feel at home.  I needed something familiar to make me feel like I wasn't such an outsider.  It didn't take long and I was hooked.  I began researching and trying to learn everything I could.  Kevin and I started praying together and things were looking up.  We started listening to Scott Hahn, Peter Kreeft, and Matthew Kelly.  I was learning so much and so amazed at the amazingness (I think I made that word up) of the Church.

Then last summer Kevin heard about Napro and Creighton on one of his Catholic Answers Live pod casts.  We immediately signed up and I now knew about the Catholic side of infertility.  I felt like I had answers to my beliefs on fertility (my beliefs were right inline with the Church without me even realizing it).  It inspired me to learn more and I felt like my infertility was bringing me even closer to Christ.  For the first time in my life I was falling madly in love with Jesus.  I did not just love Jesus, I was in love with Him.  Something I didn't even realize I was missing.

Early in 2009 I thought and thought about talking to Kevin about taking RCIA classes.  But if you remember I mentioned I was shy.  There was something that just kept holding me back.  I would get so close to bringing it up and then chicken out.  I kept praying that God would give me the words but they never came.

In January I saw something on a blog about requesting a saint for the year.  I thought, this is awesome!  It will help me learn about saints and I figured God would send me one that would help me make some sort of sense of my infertility.  Wrong again! :)  God had better plans.  The very next day I received an email stating that they don't pick the saints the saints pick you yada yada.  I scrolled to the bottom eager to see who I got only to read a name I had never heard - St. Imelda Lambertini, the patron saint of first communions.  I immediately knew that this was God answering one of my prayers which was "Lord help me know what to do.  If I should become Catholic please open my eyes.  And please God do not use subtle hints.  I don't do subtlety well and need you to be obvious.  Smack me on the head with it."  I don't know that God could have been more obvious.  However, I chose to dismiss the obviousness and email it to Kevin and ask him what he thought, playing dumb of course. :)  His response...why don't you ask her why she chose you?  Seriously Kevin?  You were supposed to say "Hey, maybe she wants you to become Catholic."  I wanted it to be that easy.  I didn't want to bring it up.  I was too scared.

This past Easter we decided to go to the Saturday Vigil Mass, something I had never been to.  I was in tears the whole time.  It was the most beautiful thing I have ever witnessed.  I left there so angry with myself.  Angry that I hadn't told Kevin about my wishes to become Catholic.  It took me another month of praying.  It took me going to Mass every Sunday and trying to hold back the tears because I was unable to receive the Eucharist.  Every Sunday at Mass I felt the strongest pull on my heart.  It is something I cannot explain.  And every Sunday during communion I heard the very audible voice of God saying to me "I am here my child.  All you have to do is say that you believe."

So back in very early May I sent Kevin an IM saying that I wanted to look into RCIA.  It took him awhile to respond and that made me nervous.  I found out later that he was fighting back tears and had to compose himself first (he was at work).  He immediately emailed Fr. Ron.  They got to discussing me and Fr. Ron said I did not have to attend RCIA but instead could receive private instruction (apparently there was a document written stating the purpose for RCIA, and baptized Christians were not to take RCIA unless they never practiced their faith.)  I was shocked and also overjoyed about this.  The one thing I said to Kevin is that I was so angry at myself for waiting so long to talk to him about it...I did not want to wait another year to receive the Eucharist.  Every day that I went without was excruciatingly painful.  So after a month of emails between Kevin and FR. Ron, and the deacon who is doing my private instruction being on vacation I had my first meeting last week.  We meet again tonight and will every Monday night until we both believe I am ready.  He does not think it will take long so I am waiting with much anticipation.

I believe!  I believe with every fiber of my being.  I question everything in my life (although I did not question marrying my dh :) ).  Absolutely everything.  I am always terrified to make the wrong decision.  But with this, I am 100% sure.  I do not doubt this at all.  I cannot wait to receive the body and blood of Christ.  I feel like I'm finally coming home. Praise God!

And I must say to all of the blogger girls out there.  So many of you have played such an important part in my conversion.  I found you all when I was at one of my lowest points (I found you all long before I started a blog of my own).  At a point where I was at a serious crossroads.  Reading about your amazing faith and your honesty helped me get to this point.  You all have a fire inside, a fire that makes people look and say "I want that!"  I think that is one of the greatest testaments of faith.  Having a fire inside that exudes your faith.

And to my darling husband who doesn't read my blog because I don't even think he knows it exists.  Thank you.  Thank you for re-falling in love with your faith so that I could find mine.  Thank you for being a true example.  I love you dearly.

And if I could, I would ask for prayers over the next few weeks.  I'm not sure how long this is going to take.  The deacon doesn't think long but you never know.

***I just skimmed this over and boy is it long!  The scary thing is that I left a lot out.  I left a huge part out that I plan on blogging about in the future.  It's about being an example to your faith.  Along my road one of the biggest things that turned me away from the Church was the examples I was shown.  What I believe a Catholic to be was not a good image.  It is so important to live what you believe because you never know who is watching.  By being a "hypocrite" you may be turning someone, who only knows a few for examples, off.

Cycle Wonky-ness

It's been awhile hasn't it.  Things have been BUSY lately!  The school year is almost over though so hopefully things will sloooooow down.  I'm exhausted!  I need one heck of a summer break.  I think I'm way more ready for this than the kids are. :)

So I'm having a bit of a wonky mid cycle and I just don't know what to make of it.  My cycles are fairly predictable.  Five days of bleeding followed by just a few "green" days then right into "white" days.  There's usually about 7 or so of those then we move into 12-13 post peak green days.  Um this cycle is being a little strange.  My first 3 white days were pretty poor quality (6-8c ad), which is actually pretty typical. Then I had a better day, 8kl x3.  Then I had a GREAT day, 10kl ad, and I do mean all day sorry TMI).  This is also typical.  However...what is not typical is that after that great day of 10kl ad it's gone downhill fast.  I usually have about 3 days of 10kl but I only had the one.  The last 2 days have been a 8c x2 and a 6c x1.  Then the really weird thing was first thing this morning there was the slightest pink tinge (not pink cm, just pink on the tp).  I almost didn't notice it.  I have never ever ever had mid cycle spotting.  I used to have tebb and some brown bleeding a few days before af but not since I started HCG.  Besides, it has never been mid cycle like this and never pink.  I have no clue what to think.

I am refusing to let my mind wonder over to implantation bleeding.  I refuse!  Ok, maybe I did let my mind go there since I'm writing about it...but I don't want to go there.  That is completely not logical.  It would be way too soon for implantation bleeding.  Doesn't it take like 5 or so days for that?  So unless I ovulated on one of my first "white" days that is not even possible.  So since it's not possible we are going to move on.  :o)

So what could it be?  Bleeding from ovulation?  Does that happen?  I haven't experienced it but anything is possible right?
Maybe I'm just crazy.  Maybe it wasn't really there.  Maybe my sleepy eyes were playing tricks on me.

I want to be pregnant so badly that maybe I'm making myself see things to get my hopes us.  I hope my mind isn't that cruel!
